Week 10


Cian:


This week, we completed work on the third and fourth level. I was responsible for building out the 4th level. This required the implementation of the gun, which uses a custom model. This level also featured enemy AI created by Matthew for the previous level. This level primarily features new models created for it, making it most likely the most time consuming level we made for the game.  After the completion of both 2 levels, all levels were finally implemented for the Alpha, making the game playable from start to finish. We also finally fixed an issue regarding texture tiling that helped improve the visual aspect of the game significantly.


This week we also held a playtest in which we received positive feedback regarding the game, primarily about the visual style and audio design. Before beta, we would like to do a pass over the second level to try to improve navigation through it, as it was notably difficult for playtesters to make it through. Besides that, it will be general polish and additional cinematics that will bring the game into its beta stage.

Matthew: I was in charge of the third level,  I created the enemy AI and set them up to spawn in set locations. The level is a distorted version of the first level, all the textures were swapped with meat.
