Week 9


Cian:

This week we finalised our plan for the game's alpha build and began implementing the remaining content needed for it. We aim to have all 4 levels in a playable state for the alpha, allowing for the game to be played start to finish, even if certain features and content aren't fully implemented. The alpha should be sequence complete but not content complete, as there are still some more assets that need to be made (audio, better models, menus).


I began working on the final level, the hospital, while Matthew started work on the third. I began implementing the shooting mechanics needed for the final game. I'm using a placeholder asset for the gun currently but plan to create  a model in blockbench for the full game. The level has been greyboxed while the design is finalised. The alpha will feature enemy AI once Matthew has them finished with their use in level 3.


I also need to work further on the games menus and scene transitions, though these are not essential for the alpha. We also need to decide on a final name for the game, as fond as I am of "Untitled Horror Game".


Matthew: This week I worked on getting an AI script working, that follows the player and sends them to the next scene when caught, I also wanna choose where and how frequently the enemies spawn.
